Clearwater original salt cells are a quality product manufactured by the original equipment manufacturer (now Zodiac Clearwater). Replacing your salt cell will extend the life of your chlorinator and is an economical alternative to complete replacement of your chlorinator.
- The LM3 genuine salt cell has a internal floating adapter supplied with the cell and the old adapter needs to be removed in order for the new adapter to be used. Sometimes the old adapter can jam into the housing, if so then you may need to price it off the housing with a small flat bladed screwdriver or something similar.
Regarding the pre and post 2006 versions of LM3 salt cells, Zodiac have stated that you may not need the extra parts unless you have particular housing issues.
The suggested procedure is:.
- Remove the outer shroud, or, take the end off the shroud. This will allow you to fully screw in the locking ring for the salt cell. Other wise you may need the cell housing
The shroud is purely for presentation, it has no functional purpose.
